1 Kings 4:21 – Solomon’s Kingdom
No narration available
Those who subscribe to the theory of premillennialism allege that one of the proofs of a coming millennium is the fact that Israel has never yet possessed the total territory which God promised to Abraham’s seed.
In Genesis 15:18, Jehovah promised to Abraham,
“In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.”
Since the Lord’s promises fail not, it is argued that the fulfillment of the pledge must be yet future.
It is incorrect to contend that the land promise was never fulfilled, in view of the plain testimony of Scripture. In 1 Kings 4:21 the inspired narrative declares:
“And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought tribute, and served Solomon all the days of his life.”
This precisely fulfills the prophecy of Genesis 15:18. And so, beside 1 Kings 4:21 write: Land promise fulfilled; see Genesis 15:18.
